Jakarta: Member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) have pledged to continue their cooperation in combating terrorism, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said.

Yudhoyono told the press after the conclusion of the 18th ASEAN Summit in Jakarta on Sunday that the cooperation would make the countries remain alert against terror.

"We all discussed that terrorism is a crime that we all must be able to prevent. We will continue the ASEAN`s cooperation to fight terrorism," the President was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
According to Indonesian police, an al Qaeda-allied terrorist network - the Jemaah Islamiyah - is present in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
