Kharkiv: An explosion caused by an apparent "terrorist" bomb wounded 10 people during a march in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Sunday, police told AFP.
The blast occurred during a demonstration marking the one-year anniversary of the overthrow of Ukraine`s former pro-Kremlin president. Kharkiv is under Ukrainian government control and located and more than 200 kilometres (120 miles) from the frontline.
Similar marches were taking place in Kiev and other parts of Ukraine on Sunday, though not in the chunk of eastern territory controlled by pro-Russian rebels who are fighting government forces.
Witnesses initially told AFP eight people were wounded in the blast.
But Kharkiv police spokeswoman Natalia Zakharova said the toll was 10 wounded. An investigation will be opened into an apparent "terrorist explosion" caused by an unidentified device, she said.
