Baghdad: Iraqi authorities say two morning bomb attacks on the outskirts of Baghdad have killed six on Sunday, as the death toll from a wave of car bombings in the capital the night before jumped to 57.
Police and hospital officials say today`s attacks included a blast in a market in the town of Taji that killed four and wounded 15. Another bomb exploded outside the house of a local Sunni militia leader in the town of Basmaiya, killing two and wounding four.
The additional casualties reported from yesterday`s bombings pushed the number of those killed across the country yesterday to more than 65.
The officials spoke anonymously because they weren`t authorized to release the information.
