Baghdad: Iraqi police officials say a pair of
bombs apparently targeting Baghdad security patrols have
killed one policeman and wounded at least 15 people.

The officials say the first blast took place around 9:30
am today and wounded 11 people, including two policemen, in
the Shiite-dominated Kazimiyah neighbourhood in northern
Baghdad. A Kazimiyah hospital official confirmed the
casualties.

A second bomb killed a traffic policeman in the city
centre a few minutes later.

Police and hospital officials say the bomb, which was
hidden on a parked motorcycle, also wounded two policemen and
two passers-by.

All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because
they were not authorised to talk to the media.
