Islamabad: The banned Baloch Republican
Army has claimed responsibility for a roadside bomb attack
that killed four people, including three employees of
Pakistan's state-run oil and gas company in the restive
Balochistan province.
A BRA spokesman, who identified himself as Sarbaz
Baloch, called reporters in the southwestern city of Quetta to
claim responsibility for yesterday's bombing and said his
group will continue to carry out such attacks.
The BRA, which is among several groups waging a
violent insurgency in Balochistan, has targeted employees of
state-run firms like the Oil and Gas Development Company in
the past too.
Four people were killed and 18 others injured when the
group attacked a convoy of the oil company in March.
A bomb hidden in motorcycle was used to target an OGDC
vehicle in Dera Allahyar town yesterday.
Two engineers and a driver of OGDC and a passerby were
killed in the attack.
