London: According to a new confidential report compiled by an expert, nuclear power stations in Britain are extremely vulnerable to drone attacks.
The report followed a number of unexplained, but apparently coordinated, flights of tiny, unmanned vehicles over French nuclear installations, reported the Independent.
The grave issues concern Britain`s 16 operational reactors that constitute about 18 percent of the country`s electricity.
Large said that he set the defences of a standard nuclear power plant against different types of attack that could be launched by drones.
Large`s evidence has been forwarded to Office for Nuclear Regulation, according to British officials. However, a copy of the report has not been requested. Large said that he would advice Government to look at this report.
Large added that Greenpeace France, which commissioned the work, had been right to keep the details of the review private, but that this would not bar the UK authorities from receiving a copy.
