British PM criticises BBC for harming 2018 bid

British PM David Cameron joins criticism of a BBC investigation into FIFA.

London: British Prime Minister David Cameron has criticised a BBC investigation into FIFA because it could harm England`s bid to host the 2018 World Cup.

Cameron says a BBC Panorama documentary set for broadcast three days before Thursday`s vote to decide the hosts of the 2018 and `22 tournaments could hurt England`s efforts to hold the competition for the first time since 1966.

In an interview with the BBC to be broadcast on Saturday, Cameron says "is it frustrating that Panorama`s doing this programme a few days before? Of course it is."

Cameron and Prince William will travel to Zurich next week with the bid team.

Cameron says he "will just have as many meetings as I can" to persuade any floating voters to back England.
