British Prime Minister David Cameron`s wife Samantha has given birth to their fourth child, a "beautiful" baby girl, nearly a month early.

"Both the baby -- who was born weighing 2.7 kg -- and
Mrs Cameron are doing very well," a statement from the prime
minister`s office said.
The couple`s daughter was born by caesarian section at
the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske while on a vacation in
Cornwall, southwest England.
Cameron, 43, and Samantha, 39, were on holiday with
their family in the area, as the baby was not due until
Speaking outside the hospital shortly after the birth,
the Prime Minister said he was the "proud dad" of a

hospital before "it all just kicked off a bit quickly".

The last British prime minister to have a baby in

The Camerons have two other children, Nancy and
Arthur, born in 2004 and 2006 respectively. Their eldest son,
Ivan, died in February last year aged six.
Meanwhile, the baby is most likely to be named Lucy,
Daisy or Samantha, according to Ladbrokes, a bookmaker.
The bookmaker is offering odds of 12 to one on the
prime minister chosing Lucy which was ranked twelfth on a list
of the top baby names of 2009 or Daisy which came in at
Other possible names include Elizabeth at 16 to one
and Juliet at 20 to one. More daring gamblers could place a
bet on the baby being named Beyonc, after the American
singer, at 500:1, or Cammy Cameron, at 1000:1, The Telegraph
