Captured Ugandan rebel commander to go to ICC, US confirms

The United States confirmed Tuesday that the captured leader of Uganda`s Lord`s Resistance Army will be sent to the International Criminal Court to face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Washington: The United States confirmed Tuesday that the captured leader of Uganda`s Lord`s Resistance Army will be sent to the International Criminal Court to face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Dominic Ongwen, who was in the custody of US special forces after surrendering last week in the Central African Republic, will be turned over to the African Union Regional Task Force and then transferred to the ICC in the Hague, State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf said.
