At least four people were killed on Saturday in a car bomb near a bus stop in south of Baghdad.

Baghdad: At least four people were killed on Saturday in a car bomb near a bus stop in south of Baghdad.

The bomb exploded while the commuters were waiting at the bus stop in the morning hours. Seven people are expected to have wounded in the incident. On the condition of anonymity, the staff of the nearby hospital confirmed the causality figures.

Police on Friday had said that at least 41 people were killed and 22 others wounded in the latest wave of violent attacks across Iraq. The nation is witnessing the worst of violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, around 7,000 Iraqis were killed and over 16,000 others injured from January to October this year.
