Million of Muslims across China mark the end of Ramadan on Friday.
Beijing: Million of Muslims across China celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday, marking the end of Ramadan after a month of fasting and spiritual reflection.
Muslims of different ethnic groups in northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, as well as in other regions, donned festive costumes and swarmed mosques to hear preaching given by imams.
China has 20 million Muslim population, about half of them being from the Hui ethnic group, while the rest are Uyghurs of Turkish origin who form the majority in Xinjiang province.
