Bogota: Nine police officers were killed and three others wounded when their helicopter crashed in northeastern Colombia, Xinhua reported.
The helicopter crashed into a mountainous area in Casanare province Saturday, minutes after taking off from the town of Salinas, police said. The aircraft had a mechanical problem.
The injured were shifted to hospitals in the provincial capital of Yopal and in the neighbouring Boyaca province.
