Tripoli: Colonel Muammar Gaddafi is living somewhere in Libya and is in good health, his spokesperson, Moussa Ibrahim, has said.
According to Ibrahim, Gaddafi is reportedly living "in a place that will not be reached by those fractious groups, and he is in Libya".
He added that Gaddafi`s son, Seif al-Islam, was also present in Libya and is moving from one place to another, the Telegraph reports.
Ibrahim``s statement came amid reports Gaddafi`s sons have fled their stronghold, Bani Walid town and ordered troops to defend it using residents as human shields.
The National Transitional Council has been trying to negotiate a peaceful end to the Libyan conflict with Moussa Ibrahim.
Ibrahim was said to have demanded face-to-face peace talks and giving up of arms by rebels.
Meanwhile,the country’s country`s National Oil Company chairperson, Nuri Berruien, admitted that oil production would not return to earlier level of 1.6 million barrels a day, before next year’s later months.
