Texas: A patient's father, reportedly disgruntled with the system, who took two people hostage in a hospital's critical care unit in Texas' Houston, causing partial evacuation, surrendered peacefully.

The man, surrendered more than three hours after he barricaded himself in a room at Texas' Tomball Regional Medical Center. The hospital was declared safe and was no longer "operating under lock-down procedures", tweeted Texas's Houston County Sherrif's office. The sherrif's office further said that the man was not armed, and the investigation is ongoing.

The incident began at 7 pm in the evening at the critical care unit of Tomball Regional Medical Center, Texas where a person - "distraught" father of a patient took two people hostage, the Harris County Sheriff's Office said.

The Harris County Sheriff`s office rushed its High Risk Operation Unit to Tomball Regional Medical Center to defuse the crisis.
 

The police said that the situation had been "contained" without anybody being hurt. The police said a negotiator had been sent to talk to the man to reach a peaceful solution.
