Kathmandu: Nepal`s 33 opposition parties led by the CPN-Maoist Sunday urged the international community not to support the Nov 19 government`s bid to hold the second constituent assembly election.

The 33 parties criticized the increasing foreign intervention in the internal affairs of Nepal such as constitution drafting process, election and other issues, reports Xinhua.

"Some foreign missions have saddened the Nepali community by supporting the election process because the decision to go for election was taken by only four major parties, not all the parties in Nepal," they said.

The four parties -- UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) -- March 13 agreed to go for the election but 33 parties led by CPN-Maoist are against it.

A total of 139 parties have approached the Election Commission seeking to take part in the election.

As only four parties were involved in the government formation accord, opposition parties call it a four-party syndicate.

The statement is likely to affect the preparations made by the ruling and opposition parties for holding talks on the upcoming election.

The CPN-Maoist-led 33 party alliance is demanding the cancellation of the election process and dissolution of the government.
