 Boko Haram gunmen killed dozens of people in raids on four villages in northeast Nigeria, slitting the throats of some residents and opening fire on others, a resident and the police said Tuesday.

Kano: Boko Haram gunmen killed dozens of people in raids on four villages in northeast Nigeria, slitting the throats of some residents and opening fire on others, a resident and the police said Tuesday.

The raids near Monguno in Borno state last Friday left 43 dead, according to Kilwa village resident Sheriff Kulo, although there was no corroboration of his toll. State police confirmed the attacks.
