Dutch prosecutors release pro-WikiLeaks hacker The Hague: Dutch prosecutors released a teenager after he admitted taking part in cyber attacks launched by supporters of whistleblower website WikiLeaks, a spokesman said.

The 19-year-old, arrested on Saturday in the municipality of Hoogezand-Sappemeer, admitted taking part in cyber attacks on the websites of Mastercard, Visa, Moneybookers and the Dutch national prosecutor, said spokesman Wim de Bruin.

The spokesman would not say whether the teenager faced prosecution.

A 16-year-old arrested earlier this week remains in detention because he is suspected of more serious violations and investigations were ongoing, the spokesman said.

Hackers - dubbed "hack-tivists" - stepped up cyber attacks on those they perceived as opponents of WikiLeaks, including companies that have deprived the organisation of their services.
