London: Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Thursday said efforts to place hurdles in the path of Pakistan's development have failed, Geo News reported.
Addressing mediapersons after attending the Pak-Britain Energy Conference here, Sharif said, "These efforts were made to derail Pakistan, not finish our government."
Pakistan's capital city has been witnessing anti-government protest for over three months by Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to press for the main demand of Sharif's resignation over rigging of general elections.
Another protest, started on the same day Aug 14, by Tahirul Qadri-led Pakistan Awami Tehreek was wrapped up recently after 70 days.
