Cairo: Paintings on India made by Egyptian children will be displayed and a documentary on the country would be screened at a day-long cultural programme in Egypt's Mansoura city today.

India's Ambassador to Egypt, Navdeep Suri, in a tweet said that he would be visiting Mansoura city, about 120 km northeast of Cairo, today as part of the Embassy's 'India Day' outreach programme.

An exhibition 'Glimpses of India', featuring the artwork of the Egyptian children who participated in the embassy's painting competition recently, will be displayed. The event will also screen documentary 'India's spirit'.

The programme, to be held in the Mansoura Cultural Centre, will also be marked by Indian and Egyptian folkloric dance performances.

The ambassador will later distribute prizes to the winners of the painting competition.
