Expert confirms Malaysian opposition leader sex video is genuine

Ibrahim has claimed that it is a conspiracy to end his political career.

Kuala Lumpur: The sex video of a man resembling Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim is authentic, a foreign video expert has claimed.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar said the expert had corroborated the findings of local video analysts over its authenticity.

“We have confirmed with the foreign video expert that the sex video is authentic,” the Star quoted Bakar, as saying.

He added that police had also identified the man and woman in the video and would only reveal the identities of the people if the law required it.

“We are in the final stages of our investigations and will be handing in the investigation papers to the Attorney-General`s Chamber soon,” he said.

Inspector-General of Police Ismail Omar also said that local experts had confirmed that the video clip implicating the opposition leader had not been doctored.

Shuaib Lazim, former treasurer-general of Malay rights group Perkasa, businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and former Malacca chief minister Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik, collectively known as ‘Datuk T’, exposed the existence of the video showing a man resembling Anwar having sex with a woman believed to be a prostitute.

However, Anwar has denied that he was the man in the sex video and claimed that it was a conspiracy to end his political career.
