Five women decapitated in Mexican city
Five women were found decapitated in the Pacific resort city of Acapulco, authorities said.
Chilpancingo: Five women were found decapitated in the Pacific resort city of Acapulco, authorities said.
Three of the victims, one of them just 14, were discovered inside a hair salon in the city centre. All three were bound hand-and-foot, a police source in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero told EFE.
A fourth decapitated woman was found inside an abandoned car in Acapulco`s Lazaro Cardenas neighbourhood, while the fifth victim was found behind a church in the Mozimba district.
The body of the fifth woman was accompanied by a message, the source said, while declining to offer any further details.
Drug cartels and other criminal organisations often leave such "calling cards".
Police say they have yet to determine whether all five killings are related.
Acapulco, now thronged with Mexicans on Easter break, has been the scene of numerous drug-related killings linked to a broader battle among three different cartels for control of Guerrero, where marijuana and opium poppies are grown.
