Former military plane crashes in Czech Republic Prague: Officials say a plane has crashed in northwest Czech Republic, killing the pilot and injuring another person on board.

Czech military spokeswoman Jana Ruzickova says the plane is a subsonic L-29 Delfin plane that was no longer used by the military and belongs to a private company. It crashed on Monday near the airport in Zatec.

The injured woman was transported to a hospital. The Czech-made aircraft was widely used by Warsaw Pact Armies decades ago for training and as a light combat plane.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Authorities also investigate a separate incident when a passenger turboprop ATR 42 that belongs to the Czech airline CSA was destroyed by fire in a hangar at Prague's international airport. One person was injured lightly.
