Four Chinese officials suspended for fatal rest home fire

 Four officials were suspended today in connection to a fire incident at a rest home for senior citizens in China's central Henan Province in which 38 people were killed.

The officials, including Tian Hanlin, deputy head of Lushan County, Liu Dagang, head of the county's civil affairs bureau, Liu's subordinate Wang Zhanwen and police officer Gao Feng were suspended for negligence.

The decisions were announced by the Pingdingshan city committee of the Communist Party of China, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The inferno at the privately-owned Kangleyuan Rest Home in Lushan County claimed 38 lives and injured 6 persons on Monday.
