France recorded its sharpest drop in unemployment for 20 years in September, with 66,300 fewer people looking for work, the labour ministry said Tuesday.

Paris: France recorded its sharpest drop in unemployment for 20 years in September, with 66,300 fewer people looking for work, the labour ministry said Tuesday.

The figure, which will boost embattled President Francois Hollande, brings the jobless total to 3.49 million in mainland France and more than erases August`s increase in job seekers of over 50,000.
