Moscow: In a deadly incident in Russia, a freight train collided with with a passenger train at the outskirts of the capital Moscow, killing at least nine and injuring 45, said Russian news agencies.
The accident took place today afternoon between the stations of Bekasovo and Naro-Fominsk and many train carriages were derailed in the collision, reported local news agency Itar-Tass.
Over a dozen of cars of the freight train derailed near the station of Bekasovo and hammered into the passenger, resulting in derailment of three of its passenger-filled carriages, added the report.
The passenger train was heading from Moscow to Chisinau in Moldova.
Rescuers and medical workers were rushed to the site.
