Paris: French President Francois Hollande Tuesday strongly condemned the attack on a Pakistani school which killed at least 126 people, most of them children.
"No words can describe the abjectness of such attack against children in their school," Xinhua quoted the president as saying in a statement.
Hollande reiterated France's support to Pakistani government to eradicate terrorists.
In a separate communique, French Foreign Affairs Minister Laurent Fabius condemned the attack as a "monstrous act", expressing sympathy to the families and friends of the victims.
Taliban insurgents, wearing army uniform, broke into an army-run public school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar and opened fire.
The school offers education mainly to children aged between 9 and 16 from army families.
