Gaza City: In what raises questions at the lofty Palestinian death toll in recent cross-border violence, a video emerged that showed dead bodies, presumably killed in Israeli strikes, moving beneath the white shrouds.
The video that shows a number of dead bodies shrouded in white sheets, has created a buzz on social media with many tweeting that it exposes the propaganda war waged by Hamas that blames Israel for massacre.
“Hamas is waging a major propaganda waragainst the Jewish state, having no reservations about staging massacres that they then blame on Israel, inflating their death toll numbers,” reported a local Israeli news report.
In the video, the movement of the dead can be clearly seen. Also, a corpse at the extreme right is seen lying with his shoes crossed, as if relaxing, that is very atypical of any one who is dead.
However, the authenticity of the video was not verified and it was later removed from the YouTube.
Israel and Gaza are mired in more than a month of violence that started on July 8 and was interspersed with few ceasefires that were either not extended or finally violated.
According to Gazan health ministry more than 2000 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli air strikes.
Israel launched operation Protective Edge against Hamas on July 8 to halt rockets being fired from Gaza.
The latest ceasefire was broken last week after three rockets were fired towards Israel, prompting it to recall ite negotiators from Egypt, which is trying to broker a longer-term ceasefire.
