Berlin: Germany has arrested an Afghan man suspected of recruiting al Qaeda members and collecting funds for the terror network and an Islamist Uzbek movement, federal prosecutors said on Thursday.
The suspect, who was only identified as 21-year-old Omid H, was detained in the central city of Kassel on Wednesday.
He is suspected of having tried to recruit new members for the two groups on 21 occasions.
Investigators said he had published nearly 60 texts and videos calling for terror acts on an Islamist website since July last year.
