Tunisia soldier opens fire on comrades near Parliament

Gunfire erupted near a mosque and military base in the Tunisian capital Tunis on Monday, and a nearby school was evacuated, state news agency TAP and a security official said.

Tunis: A Tunisian soldier opened fire on comrades at a barracks near parliament on Monday, wounding some of them, defence ministry spokesman Belhassen Oueslati told AFP.

He declined to be drawn on whether there had been any deaths in the shooting at the capital`s Bouchoucha barracks.
