Port-au-Prince: An outbreak of diarrhoea in
quake-hit Haiti has claimed at least 50 lives, local health
officials said on Thursday.
"We have registered 51 or 52 deaths along the Artibonite
river which crosses the centre and north of the country,"
Arial Henry, Director of the health minister`s office, told
a news agency.
According to local radio, most of the dead have been
taken to hospitals in Saint-Marc, about 100 kms north of the
