Head of Norwegian intelligence resigns over gaffe Norway: The head of Norway's intelligence service, Janne Kristiansen, is resigning from her post after apparently disclosing too much information during a hearing in Parliament.

Justice Minister Grete Faremo says the PST-head informed her of her resignation late Wednesday, and that it would have immediate effect. Kristiansen will be replaced by her deputy, Roger Berg, until further notice.

According to the statement late Wednesday, it was during a hearing in Parliament that Kristiansen "expressed herself in a way that could be interpreted as a breach of confidentiality”.

Several Norwegian newspapers say Kristiansen made the gaffe when answering a question about Pakistan, revealing too much information concerning Norwegian intelligence activities in the country.
