Hillary Clinton hopes to see female US president in her lifetime

Clinton at a Canadian speech said that such an election would be important for the country.

Washington: Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has spoken about her `hypothetical` desire to see a woman president for the US `in her lifetime`.

Clinton at a Canadian speech said that such an election would be important for the country.

According to Politico, in the video of which was posted on YouTube, Clinton said she really did hope that the country has a woman president in her lifetime.
Clinton in Toronto, before a women-centered event on Thursday, said that whether it`s next time or the next time after that, it really depends on women stepping up and subjecting themselves to the political process, which is very difficult, the report said.

She said that President Barack Obama`s election was historic, adding that she hoped the US would see a woman elected because she thought it would send exactly the right historic signal to girls, women as well as boys and men.
Clinton was speaking at the `Unique Lives and Experiences` conference, and was later interviewed by the head of a non-profit helping kids in war-torn areas.
