Riyadh: A 24-year-old Indian, who had arrived in Saudi Arabia a week ago, was shot dead by his employer`s son in Mecca.
Anas Pudvilikalvi from Kerala, who was employed as a driver, died after sustaining several gunshot wounds yesterday, Mecca police spokesman Aati Al-Qurashi said.
"The shooter, who was in his twenties, suffered psychological problems," he said.
"Anas Pudvilikalvi, 24, from Kerala, arrived in Mecca a week ago to work as a family driver. The driver went to Taif on Friday night along with the sponsor`s family and returned to Mecca the same night, after which the fateful incident occurred," the Arab News reported, citing a source.
The body has been shifted to King Faisal Hospital in Mecca and the shooter has been taken into custody.
