Tehran: Iran has banned reformist newspaper Mardom Emrouz for publishing on its front page the headline "I am Charlie", state news agency IRNA reported Saturday.

It said the slogan, which has come to symbolise the fight for freedom of expression after last week`s deadly attack on the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo in Paris, was published next to a picture of Hollywood star George Clooney who had said "I am Charlie" at a recent event.
