Tehran: Iran`s Atomic Energy Organisation rubbished Tuesday the allegations by an exiled Iranian opposition group about existence of a hidden underground site for military nuclear purposes inside the country, Xinhua reported.
Kamalvand called the claims "repetitious and unfounded", saying that the allegations are aimed at influencing the "positive atmosphere" created between Iran and the P5+1 -- Britain, China, France, Russia and the US plus Germany -- in the recent talks over Iran`s nuclear programme, Xinhua reported.
On Monday, the Paris-based National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) claimed that its sources inside the country had confirmed the existence of a military site inside a heavily guarded 600-metre tunnel in central Isfahan province.
The group said, however, it was unable to make sure what was happening inside the tunnel because the area was highly secured.
Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan rejected the claims, saying that the move was an attempt to undermine the ongoing nuclear talks and to mislead the world public opinion, local media reported.
