Tehran: A senior Tehran nuclear negotiator says Iran is "hopeful" about prospects for more progress in nuclear talks with world powers ahead of next week`s meetings in Geneva.

Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told state TV late yesterday that while Iran and the six powers five permanent UN Security Council members and Germany had agreed on a framework in October, the Iranian side is "hopeful to make achievements on the content" in the next round of the talks.

But Araghchi cautioned the road ahead is "a long and meandrous path."

Iran and world powers are to start a two-day meeting yesterday in Geneva about Tehran`s nuclear program. The West suspects Iran seeks to make a nuclear weapon. Iran denies it, saying its nuclear program is for power generation.
