Iran N-plant to start operation by year-end

Russia will initially operate the plant, supply its fuel and take away all the spent fuel.

Moscow: Iran`s first nuclear power plant at Bushehr will go into full operation by the end of this year, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a Russian TV channel Sunday.
"The Bushehr nuclear power plant is ready and the plant will be launched into full operation by the end of this year," Ahmadinejad told Russia Today.

He said Iran has no disagreements with Russian contractor Rosatom over the financing of the project and there will be no delays with the plant`s launch.

Under a bilateral agreement, which has received approval from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Russia will initially operate the plant, supplying its fuel and taking away all the spent fuel for the next two or three years, but will eventually hand over full control to Iran.
