London: Up to 1,000 supporters of Iran's exiled opposition took to the streets of London to demand regime change in Tehran on the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution, organisers have said.
The protest, organised yesterday by the exiled National Council of Resistance of Iran, was held in solidarity with opposition demonstrations in Tehran marking Thursday's anniversary of the 1979 Islamic revolution which toppled the Shah.
On the square outside the Houses of Parliament in central London, the crowd -- which included British lawmakers -- held up Iranian flags and asked Britain to sever ties with the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
