Tehran: The Iranian President has warned the country`s opposition against straying from the path of the founder of the Islamic Revolution and slammed Israel for a deadly raid on a Gaza-bound flotilla.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke before tens of thousands gathered on Friday at the shrine of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini for a ceremony marking the 21st anniversary of his death.

Ahmadinejad told the crowd that those "who deviate from the Imam`s path will be banished by the people”. The speech comes days ahead of the opposition`s mass rally planned on the anniversary of last June`s disputed Presidential Election.
Ahmadinejad also said the Israeli commando raid on the international flotilla off Gaza`s shores was "barbaric" and called for dismantling the Zionist regime.
