`Iranians not after weapons, favour culture` Tehran: Iran is not after weapons as Iranians are men and women of "logic" and "culture", President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday in an attack against western agencies which allege that Tehran was pursuing development of nuclear weapons.

A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said Iran continued nuclear weapons research and technology development after 2003, even after declaring a halt in its nuclear programme.

"Iranians will dissolve you by their culture, thoughts and logic," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by the IRNA news agency.

He made the remarks at a ceremony to unveil a collection of 18 ancient Iranian artworks which were returned to the country by Britain where they had been smuggled and were to be put on auction.

The art pieces were returned to the Iranian embassy in London after a ruling by the London Court of Appeal.

The collection includes vases, chalices, bowls and dishes which were smuggled from Iran's ancient city of Jiroft during 2001-2004 to London. They were presented at an auction in London's Barakat Gallery.
