Militants linked to the Islamic State group killed at least 30 civilians in the central Afghan province of Ghor, the local government said Wednesday.

Kabul: Militants linked to the Islamic State group killed at least 30 civilians in the central Afghan province of Ghor, the local government said Wednesday.

"Daesh (Islamic State group) killed around 30 civilians, including children, after they were taken hostage," Ghor Governor Nasir Khazeh told AFP.

There has so far been no official claim of responsibility from the group.
