Cairo: Supporters of Egypt`s ousted president are holding scattered protests across the country calling for the release of detained female protesters.
Thousands of supporters of toppled President Mohammed Morsi took part in today`s demonstrations. The protests have been a near-daily occurrence across Egypt since the July 3 popularly backed military coup that ousted Morsi`s government.
Protesters today also called for the release of 21 female protesters, including seven girls, arrested in October during clashes in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
The number of protesters in the daily demonstrations has dropped as security forces have arrested thousands of Morsi supporters in recent weeks.
