Japan won`t indict Chinese captain over collision
The collision in September caused a diplomatic rift between China and Japan.
Tokyo: A Japanese coast guard official says prosecutors have decided not to indict a Chinese captain whose fishing boat collided with Japanese vessels near disputed islands.
Spokesman Go Nagai said on Friday that prosecutors also would not indict a former coast guard officer who claimed responsibility for leaking a video of the collision on YouTube.
The collision in September caused a diplomatic rift between China and Japan. Public anger triggered large anti-Japanese demonstrations across China last year.
