Muftah Awad Bouzid, the chief editor of Birnieq, one of Benghazi`s prestigious newspapers, died of gunshot wounds, the official told Xinhua.
Bouzid was attacked while on his way out of a local library after returning research papers.

Bouzid was well-known among Libyans for his commentaries on local television shows where he criticised jihadis and extremists.
