Warsaw: The mother of Lech Kaczynski is
still unaware that he died in an airplane crash in Russia six
weeks ago, the twin brother of the late Polish president said
"Mama still does not know that Lech is dead," Jaroslaw
Kaczynski, a candidate to succeed his brother in a June 20
presidential election, told the mass circulation Superexpress
newspaper in an interview.
"For a long time she has been in poor mental health
and she mistakes me for Lech, which is something that never
happened before," the 60-year-old former conservative prime

than two months.

heavy fog as it approached Smolensk in western Russia
They were to attend a memorial event on the 70th
anniversary of the mass execution of Polish military officers
under orders from Soviet dictator Josef Stalin.
Investigators in Russia have yet to determine the
cause of the disaster, but they have disclosed that
"individuals who were not members of the crew" were in the
cockpit during the flight, according to the flight data
