Tripoli: In fresh incident of violence, bodies of three activists who were beheaded have been found in eastern Libya's Derna city.

The young activists – Siraj Ghatish, Mohamed Battu and Mohamed al-Mesmari – were kidnapped earlier this month.

They had been active on social media and were passing information about the city, as per a BBC news report.

No group has claimed the reponsibility for the killings so far.

After the end of Muammar Gaddafi's regime, the country has been witnessing constant violence by various militant groups who are trying to control the city.

The three militants groups in Derna are the Islamic Youth Shura Council, a branch of Ansar al-Sharia and Martyrs of Abuslim Brigade, the report stated.

Apart from Derna, the Libyan government has lost control of Tripoli, most parts of Benghazi and Misrata.
