Male: Maldives Foreign Minister Abdul Samad Abdulla passed away Sunday in Singapore, the presidential office said.
Abdul Samad was receiving treatment in Singapore for kidney and heart disease, reports Xinhua.
Maldivian President Mohamed Waheed declared that the national flag will be flown at half-mast for three days as a mark of respect.
Samad was named the foreign minister in March 2012.
