Montreal: Police said on Sunday they have
arrested a man for lighting a fire near the official residence
of Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa.

It was not known whether Harper and his family were home
at the time of the incident, which occurred last evening.

Sergeant Mike Laviolette said the man poured a flammable
substance on the sidewalk and lit it just outside the PM`s
residence at 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, before being arrested
by RCMP officers.

The man, whose identity is not being released, was then
handed over to Ottawa police because the incident occurred on
public property.

Charges have yet to be laid. Laviolette said the man will
