Manila: Flight attendants on a plane
landing in Manila were shocked to find one of their passengers
strangled in the plane`s toilet on Wednesday, the city`s
international airport said.
Police are investigating to see if the death of the
36-year-old Filipino man, found strangled with his own jacket,
was a case of suicide, a statement from Ninoy Aquino Airport
Crew on the Gulf Air flight from Bahrain were checking
the plane`s toilet before landing and found it locked. After
no one responded to their knocking, they forced it open and
found the body.
The man`s family said he was employed as a technician
in Dubai but gave no further details, the airport said.
It was the second unusual incident involving a Gulf
Air plane in the Philippines in two months.
In September, cleaners sweeping through one of the
airline`s jets at Ninoy Aquino Airport -- the Philippines`
main international terminal -- found a newborn baby dumped in
a bin in a toilet.
The baby boy was rushed to a hospital and then turned
over to social welfare officers. He survived the ordeal and a
Filipina who said she was sexually abused overseas has come
forward and been confirmed to be his mother.
