Copenhagen: The upcoming meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin would be a good opportunity to discuss ways to strengthen Danish-Russian relations, Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen has said.
"I wait for the meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin with impatience. This will be a good opportunity to discuss the strengthening of good Danish-Russian relations," Rasmussen said yesterday.
Putin will meet his Danish counterpart Lars Lokke Rasmussen in St Petersburg tomorrow.
During the meeting, Putin and Lokke Rasmussen will discuss key issues of cooperation between Russia and Denmark, including in the trade, economic, investment, energy and transport fields.
The prime ministers of the two countries will also take part in a ceremony of opening a direct trans-Atlantic freight route between St. Petersburg and Latin America (Ecuador) operated by Denmark's Maersk Line.
"I'm glad to meet with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and take part in opening a direct container Maersk line between St Petersburg and Ecuador because this will symbolise a good potential of Danish companies on the Russian market," the Danish prime minister said.
